Normalized Verification
Last reviewed: 2026-01-03
Normalized verification is the cultural shift where double-checking becomes routine rather than uncomfortable. When verification is normalized, people feel permitted to pause, ask questions, and confirm identity without embarrassment. This reduces human-layer risk across institutions and communities. SAF encourages normalized verification through consistent public cues (posters, reminders, scripts, signage) and institution-friendly language such as: "For your safety, we verify through a second channel."
