Synthetic Voice

A synthetic voice is AI-generated speech that may sound natural and human but is not produced by the real person. Synthetic voices can be used in robocalls, live interactions, or audio messages. Because synthetic voices can imitate tone and cadence, people may assume authenticity. SAF guidance is to treat urgent requests for money, codes, or account changes as verification-required, regardless of how realistic the voice sounds.
