Multi-Channel Fraud
Last reviewed: 2026-01-03
Multi-channel fraud uses multiple communication methods—phone, text, email, social media—to increase credibility and keep pressure on. For example, a call is followed by a "confirmation" text and a branded email. Multi-channel presence does not prove legitimacy. SAF recommends second-channel verification that is independent of the channels used by the fraudster, such as calling a known official number.
